CPES PARTICIPATES IN Forum on Traffic Safety

The Folha de São Paulo newspaper hosted, earlier this week, the Forum on Traffic Safety, in partnership with Ambev and Labet Technological Exams. The event debated the cost of traffic accidents in Brazil, calculated by the Centre for Research On Insurance Economics (CPES). Natália Oliveira, CPES’ coordinator who participated in the forum, explained that the figures correspond to the value that would have been generated by the work of victims who died or became disabled after accidents. In 2016, Brazil lost R$ 146 billion on account of such accidents, which corresponds to 2.3% of the country’s GDP.
